ITINERARY - Motorcycle Tour around Iceland
DAY 1: GOLDEN CIRCLE - PART 1
Morning transfer to the Reykjavík rental office to pick up your motorcycles.
Ride to the Golden Circle.
First stop at Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, 1-hour hike to see this incredibly beautiful and historical place.
Second stop at the geothermal valley of the well-known Geysir, which gave its name to all the geysers in Earth.
Third stop is a visit the impressive Golden Waterfall of Gullfoss.
Night in hotel in Golden Circle.
Distance traveled: about 120 km.
DAY 2: GOLDEN CIRCLE - PART 2
Breakfast at hotel.
Scenic ride to the south.
First stop at Crater Kerid with a short walk around the crater.
Continue to the south, with opportunities along the way for taking scenic pictures.
Second (optional) stop in Reykjadalur Valley for those who would like to take a beautiful hike ending with a swim in natural hot springs.
Enjoy a glass of beer (what could be better? :)) after the hike and relaxing dip in the hot springs.
Night in Hveragerdi Hotel with thermal pools and Icelandic hot tubs.

DAY 3: SOUTH COAST
Breakfast at the hotel.
Head along the southern coast of Iceland.
First stop: enter (if you dare) to the Earthquake House to experience what it was like for those who lived through the 2008 double earthquake that rocked the country with a composite magnitude of 6.1 Mw.
Second stop at one of the most magestic waterfalls in Iceland (and the world), Seljalandsfoss, with an amazing curtain of water.
Third stop at Skógafoss Waterfall, perfect for chasing rainbows.
Fourth stop at Reynisfjara Beach to see and feel the magnificent black sand.
Fifth stop is in the charming coastal town of Vík, a favorite spot for many local birds.
Night near Vatnajökull National Park in a beautiful rural hotel.
Distance Traveled: around 230 km.
DAY 4: VATNAJÖKULL - EASTERN FIORDS
Breakfast at the hotel.
First stop to explore the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull.
Second stop: visit the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon (optional boat tour through a sea of icebergs depending on the season)
Ride east to the Fjords - deep inlets formed between stunning sea cliffs.
Night in Egilsstadir.
Distrance Traveled: about 420 km.
DAY 5: LAKE MÝVATN AND SURROUNDINGS
Breakfast at the hotel.
First stop at Jökulsárgljúfur National Park, with the largest waterfall in Europe, Dettifoss, known also for the brute strength and power of the water passing the falls.
Second stop is a visit to the "Canyon of the Gods", Ásbyrgi, also thought to be the capital of the elves or hidden people in Iceland.
Third stop is along the Tjörnes Peninsula where you can look for (but not touch) 2 million year old fossils on the beach.
Fourth stop is in the village of Húsavík, the best place in Iceland to take a whale watching trip.
Night in Mývatn area.
Distance Traveled: about 140 km.
DAY 6: AKUREYRI
Breakfast at the hotel.
Relaxing day!!!!!!!!
First stop: explore the beautiful Lake Mývatn, a volcanic lake with naturally heated and healing waters.
Second stop is at Krafla Volcano and Hverir volcanic areas, where steam rushes out of the earth in smoke stacks - BE CAREFUL - it's hot!.
BONUS: see where Game of Thrones was filmed! (sorry, no white walkers or dragons).
Optional stop at Mývatn Nature baths.
Final stop is at the capital of the north, Akureyri.
Overnight in Akureyri, where you can visit authentic local bars or the famous Akureyri thermal swimming pool.

DAY 7: BIG RIDE - WEST ICELAND AND HOT SPRINGS
Breakfast in the hotel.
First stop is at the highest and most powerful hot spring in Europe, the Deildartunguhver.
Second stop: the Hraunfossar Waterfall, which is a series of smaller waterfalls running nearly a kilometer in length from the nearby lava fields.
Third stop is at the Barnafoss Waterfall, where local myth and legends maintain a powerful hold over the locals.
Return of the vehicle to the Reykjavík rental office.
