TRAVEL ITINERARY - 6 DAY BEST OF ICELAND TRIP
DAY 1: WELCOME TO ICELAND - REYKJAVÍK
Arrival at Keflavík international airport and pick up your great rental car right at the airport. Drive to Reykjavík and enjoy the night in our hotel in the center of the capital.
Reykjavík houses, low and colorful, add a special charm to the city. Some of those little houses, with their decorations of elves and flowers, remind us of the fairy tales of our childhood. On the other hand Reykjavík is a cool metropolitan city with amazing arte, gourmet restaurants and lots of fun.
Northern ligh tour in the evening with a proffesional local guide. At night, a very special moment awaits you. We know that seeing the northern lights is the great dream of many of the people who come to this wonderful island and that is why we offer you the amazing opportunity to join an excursion and set out on a hunt to admire this incredible natural phenomenon. Also, to make this experience in Iceland memorable with our local guide, plus we offer audio guides in 10 languages so that you can learn and discover the science behind this magical event. The tour of northern lights with guide or audio guide in your language lasts about 3 hours, during which you can enjoy a mystifying experience away from the artificial lights of the capital that prevent you from admiring this phenomenon.

DAY 2: GOLDEN CIRCLE - THINGVELLIR - GEYSIR - GULLFOSS - KERID
After breakfast at the hotel, you will start your Icelandic adventure with an easy drive to the famous GOLDEN CIRCLE. The Golden Circle of Iceland is a trip nobody should miss while on Iceland as it includes some of the most fascinating natural sites on our planet. With our detailed itinerary you will discover the National Park of Thingvellir (Þingvellir), the area where the division of the tectonic plates between Europe and North America is visible; the magnificent golden waterfall of Gullfoss; and the geothermal zone of Geysir and Strokkur. In the afternoon you should also stop at volcanic crater Kerid.
Accommodation in the south Iceland in a great hotel with a thermal swimming pools and hot tubs. The area is also great for Northern Lights sightseeing on your own (Hotel Ork). We recommend reserving the table for dinner in the hotel.
DAYS 3: SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND
Buffet breakfast in the hotel. You will continue your trip to discover the wonders of southern Iceland, where the most beautiful waterfalls on the island are located. Driving on Highway 1, we will arrive at the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, measuring 62 meters, where you can walk behind its impressive water curtain (during the winter the access can be limited but, even without it, the view of the falls is incredible ). As we continue further south, we will pass next to the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which caused a great deal of chaos in air traffic during 2010. The next stop is the impressive Skógafoss waterfall. If visibility is good and weather permits, you will also see the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Afterwards, we will arrive at the beautiful village of Vík, where one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is located. Continue to the area of the biggest glacier in Europe where you will spend the night. If the weather conditions are optimal, we also recommend to go spot the norhtern lights on your own, you could enjoy an extraordinary spectacle, which the famous Aurora Borealis project over the sky.
Accommodation in a hotel at Southern coast of Iceland (Hotel Laki). The hotel also offers a great dinner bufet.
DAY 4: THE BIGGEST GLACIER IN EUROPE, VATNAJÖKULL AREA
Enjoy a great buffet dinner in the hotel. The fourth day we will dedicate to exploring and learning about the importance and role of ice on Iceland. You can start with a visit to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, where you can admire the floating icebergs that dance atop the frigid water. Many possibly already know the lagoon from films such as James Bond (Dies Another Day), Batman Begins or The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Then you can visit the National Park of Skaftafell the famous green Elf Canyon of the Reynisfjara beach with stunning views of impressive rock formations called Reynisdrangar. After enjoying all these natural wonders, you can also visit the turfh houses with grass roofs at Skógar.
Accommodation in the capital, in the central part of Reykjavík. With our itinerary you will receive recommendations for dinner in the city. Return of the vehicle in our Reykjavik city office.
DAY 5: ERUPTION AREA - VISIT WITH A PROFESSIONAL GUIDE

DAY 6: BLUE LAGOON AND RETURN HOME
Buffet breakfast in the hotel. You can add a visit to the famous Blue Lagoon as is the most visited monument in Iceland and one of the most fascinating places on the "Island of Ice and Fire". This impressive geothermal spa is located on the Reykjanes Peninsula, near the village of Grindavík. Its location between lava fields and beautiful landscapes and the vapors caused by the difference in temperature between the water and the environment, make the lagoon a truly extraordinary natural spectacle.
