FAVOURITE DAY TOURS IN ICELAND

One Day Tours in Iceland

Exploring Iceland in just one day is possible thanks to the wide variety of excursions available. The challenge is not finding tours, but choosing the right one depending on the season and your interests. Some experiences are available year-round, such as glacier walks or the Golden Circle, while others are seasonal. For example, the Northern Lights can only be seen from September to April, while tours to Iceland’s highlands are available from June to early August. Whale watching is best from May to September, though departures are offered all year. Natural ice caves are generally accessible from October to March, but some can be visited year-round with guided tours.

Types of Excursions: Classic, Super Jeep & Adventure Tours

In Iceland, you can choose from a wide range of guided tours:

  • Classic bus tours such as the Golden Circle or the Blue Lagoon.

  • Super Jeep tours, perfect for reaching remote or rugged areas.

  • Adventure tours including glacier hikes, snowmobiling, kayaking, rafting, horseback riding, dog sledding, caving, snorkeling, and diving.

  • Nature and eco-tours, designed for those who want to focus on Iceland’s unique landscapes and wildlife.

Whichever option you choose, we strongly recommend booking in advance, as many one-day tours in Iceland sell out quickly, especially during high season.

Bus Stops for Excursion Departures in Reykjavík

The city council of Reykjavík has established a restricted zone in the city center where tourist buses are not allowed to pick up guests directly at their accommodation. Instead, there are 12 designated bus stops where visitors must meet their guides or tour buses.

If your accommodation is within this restricted zone, you must walk to the assigned bus stop and arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. Please note that buses and minibuses are not allowed to wait, so punctuality is essential. Each traveler is responsible for being at the correct stop at the scheduled time indicated on their voucher.
