Snorkeling in the Silfra waters

Level of difficulty: Moderate (2 / 5)
Reservation: It is recommended to book your seat in advance online to ensure availability.
Activity duration: About 2,5 hours.
Price includes: Snorkeling tour guided by a professional English-speaking diver, necessary snorkeling equipment, entrance fee to Silfra, hot chocolate and cookies, local VAT.
Scheduled departures: All year round (depending on weather conditions). The tour takes place directly in the Thingvellir National Park. To get to the meeting point you need a rental car.* Please note that you have to arrive at least 15 minutes before the booking time. The meeting point is the Silfra car park. If you write "Thingvellir Parking P5" on Google Maps, you can see where you can park your rental car. To find your guide, walk 400 m back along the road until you reach the parking lot where all the dive and snorkel vans are located, and look for the guide.

REQUIREMENTS TO SNORKELING IN THE SILFRA  

Read, sign and follow the instructions in the Silfra Snorkeling Medical Statement (link provided in the confirmation email). Health form signed by the doctor if you are 60 years old or over (ask us for the certificate template).

Sign the disclaimer form at the beginning of the dive tour.

All divers must provide their height / weight at the time of booking to ensure we bring the proper equipment. For safety reasons, all divers must understand the instructions in English and be able to communicate with the dive guide in English.

Age limit: minimum: 12 years.
Weight limit: 45-120 kg
Height limit: 150-200 cm.

Participants should feel comfortable in the water and be able to swim.  They should be physically fit, be ready to wear a sometimes tight & constricting dry suit and be able to communicate in English. If you are pregnant, you cannot participate, due to the small risk of cold water entering the suit.

What should I bring? You must bring long underwear, thick socks, clothing suitable for the weather of the day (trekking clothing such as waterproof pants), good trekking shoes, gloves, light hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera and water) and contact lenses if you wear glasses.
